The Cluster Computing Project's resources are tied together by the network infrastructure shown below. Gigabit Ethernet, stateful firewalls and various network services (e.g., DHCP, NIS, NFS) are employed in the CIPA network. Besides providing high-speed access to the Database and Computational Clusters, the CIPA Network Infrastructure is used to demonstrate the principles of computer networking and computer network security in CIS courses.
